Kathmandu: The newly elected chairman, office-bearers, and executive committee members of the Nepal Socialist Party (Naya Shakti) were sworn in this evening.

Dr. Baburam Bhattarai was elected chairman of the NSP (Naya Shakti) during the party’s general convention, securing 761 votes, while his opponent Netra Chapagain received 73 votes.

Dr. Bhattarai took the oath of office from the election officer and later administered oaths to the newly elected office-bearers and executive committee members. The announcement of office-bearers was made at a press conference held at the Nepal Academy.

New Political Roadmap
Following his election from the first general convention, Dr. Bhattarai stated that his party would initiate a new phase of the people’s revolution. Additionally, he announced that the first central committee meeting of the party has been scheduled for February 23 in Kathmandu.
